A note from the founders...
Firstly, thank you for making it to this point and finding us.
Wading through the insincere landscape of internet to find something genuine is
not as easy as it should be.
We first met on the floor of a London Do-jo nearly 20 years
ago, where we spent year after year embracing the gruelling discipline synonymous with the martial arts. Our shared appreciation for hard work and the value of tradition was incontrovertible from the start, as we trained night in, night out, progressing both ourselves and our students. This foundation of muck, in many respects, paved the way for our future brass aspirations.
James navigated his career by hand, honing his craft ‘on the tools’ through the toughness of London building trade. Meanwhile, Hugh studied
Mechanical Engineering at University, supporting himself working with his hands
also, in the auto trade whilst studying. This mutual appreciation for the honest hard work of manhood and tactility only furthered our mutual values.
In this time, we observed the value of masculinity be diminished in today’s disposable and fickle society. This forced discussion on our solution; an unapologetic offering for the traditional man, goods that deliver tools for
life, marking the milestones of manhood.
From this story, Muck & Brass was born. We’re here for
the man looking for tools that embody the quality of a bygone era, when tools
were designed for life, when masculinity was not considered toxic; a masculine renaissance.
